Updated “Modern” WordPress theme for WordPress 2.2

UPDATE 14-Aug-07: I don’t use this theme any more (didn’t take long, I know). I found a theme that I think suits this blog much better. :)

I’ve just updated the WordPress theme I [used to] use for this blog (Modern, by Ulf Pettersson) to make use of Dynamic Sidebar’s in WordPress 2.2, following the instructions at http://automattic.com/code/widgets/themes/.

Downloads:

Instructions:

  1. Download the diff file (link above)
  2. Place it in to the directory your theme is contained in (in my case ~/public_html/sysadmindiary.com/wp-content/themes/modern/)
  3. Run this command: patch <modern-dynamic-sidebar.diff
  4. Done!

To do:

  • I’d like to see this theme support nested lists in the sidebar, to make the category hierarchy visible. I might do this later.
